Structural features of belt filter press:

Belt filter press series has the following features: compact structure, innovative design, easy to maintain and operate, large capacity, low water ratio of filter cake, good effect. Compared with the other devices that in the same type, it has the following advantages:

The first gravity filter section is inclined designed, it keeps sludge 1700mm from the land, increase the height of gravity filter section, enhanced the ability of gravity filtering.

Gravity filter section is long, the first section and second section totally up to 5m long, ensures the sludge fully dewatered before being pressed. At the same time, gravity dewater section is equipped with inversion devices, after wedge-shaped and s-shaped filtering, the lowest water ratio sludge can be obtained.

The first dewatering roller adopts “T”-type draining tank, quickly discharge the large amount of water, so as to increase the dehydration effect.

Working principle and dewatering process of the belt filter press:

After concentrated sludge and a certain density of flocculant fully mixed in static, dynamic mixer, small particle size in sludge cemented into Mass floe, free water is separated from it at the same time. The flocculated sludge is conveyed on the filter belt, and the free water is separated by its gravity, non-flow sludge is formed. Gripping between two net belts, then go through the extrusion force and shear stress from the wedge preloading area, low pressure area and high pressure area, gradually extrusion sludge to achieve maximum degree of mud and water separation, filter cake can be eventually formed.


1.Chemical pretreatment dewatering

In order to improve the dewatering capacity, improve the nature of filter cake and increase the permeability of material, chemical treatment is needed for the sludge. This filter press adopts unique “flocculation granulation mixer in water” device in order to realize the effect of chemical reagent flocculation. This method not only has a good effect, but also saves a lot of reagent. It has low cost and remarkable economic efficiency.


2.Gravity concentration of dewatering

Sludge is sent to the net belt uniformly through the filter cloth, go forward with the filter belt, free water flow into the draining tank through filter belt by its weight. Gravity concentration of dewatering can be taken as high density concentration dewatering section. Mainly used to dewater the free water from the sludge, reduce the fluidity of the sludge, and prepare for further extrusion.


3.Wedge area preloading of dewatering

Fluidity of sludge almost completely disappeared after the gravity dewatering. Moving forward with the filter belt, the space between the upper and lower filter belts can be gradually reduced. At the very beginning, only slight pressure on the materials, but with the movement of the filter belt, the pressure grows bigger. The function of the wedge area is prolong the time of gravity dewatering, increasing the extrusion flocculant stability, and prepare to get into the pressure area.


4.high-pressure dewatering of extrusion roller

Materials come through the wedge area and move into the pressure area, extruded in this area, along with the direction of the filter belt movement, the pressure getting smaller while the roller diameter getting bigger. The volume of the materials getting shrinks under the pressure, and free water inside the materials will be pressed out. At this time, the filter cake is basically formed. The water content will fall to the lowest after the high pressure area.


5.materials discharging

The materials discharged as a filter cake after the above stages of dewatering, and scraped out by the scraper. After clean the filter screen by the high pressure water, then come into the next dewatering circulation.
